We’ve been hearing buzz about the Cisco acquisition of BroadSoft since they announced their agreement to acquire back in October, and it is finally official. Cisco announced the completion of its acquisition of BroadSoft on February 2nd.
BroadSoft is a leading technology innovator PBX, unified communications, team collaboration and contact center solutions. BroadSoft leads the industry globally in Unified Communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) and in Contact Center-as-a-service (CCaaS). Cisco has given major priority to both collaboration and cloud solutions and this acquisition will accelerate Cisco’s cloud strategy and enhance their collaboration portfolio adding industry leading cloud calling and contact center technology solutions.
Today’s businesses need a collaboration solution that fully supports calling, messaging, video conferencing, and contact center solutions with the flexibility to deploy them on-premise or in the cloud. Adding BroadSoft’s open interface and standards-based solutions to the existing Cisco collaboration portfolio will provide customers with the best technology and solutions for businesses of any size.
The companies are beginning to work together to define the product road map moving forward and will be sharing more details about their strategy at Cisco Collaboration Summit April 18-19 in Phoenix, AZ and at BroadSoft Connections November 11-14 in Miami.
