That's a Wrap! Cisco Live Day 4
Posted by Eden Penman

It's been 4 amazing days in Las Vegas at Cisco Live 2017. Day 4 may have been shorter than days 1-3, but that didn't stop Cisco from going out with a bang! Today didn't start off with a keynote - it started with some great showcase sessions:

  • Cisco Services: Orchestrating Your Digital Transformation: Denise Cox, VP, Technical Services Americas, Cisco  shared real scenarios of how to balance business priorites and take advantage of the new IT economy. Today's "IT evolution" enables companies to reinvent the way we market, communicate, collaborate, and educate.  To be successful in the digital age we must quickly adopt new technology and scale operations with efficiency and security.
  • Reimagining the Network: Web Scale in the Enterprise: Jonathan Davidson, SVP/GM.SP Networking, Cisco Heera Lal Gupta and discussed how businesses today are blending "Carrier Class" and "Global-Class" automation approaches. They share how to create more agility in service delivery regardless of business size by leveraging the latest in automation techniques.
  • Worried About Putting Your Data into the Cloud? Good, You Should Be: Jonathan Rosenberg, VP/CTO of Collaboration, Cisco discussed what data privacy and "encryption at rest and in-transit" really means. He shared the benefits and risks of moving workloads to the Cloud, and explained the rechnology involved in Cloud platfroms and processes. He provided an understanding of how to ensure your cloud security methods provide end-to-end security, and retain the valuable features that make the Cloud so enticing to businesses.

The day wrapped up with a keynote featuring Cisco CEO, Chuck Robbins, and Emmy Award winner, Bryan Cranston. Cranston shared stories of growing up on a farm, how he has maintained the blue-collar work ethic. "I don’t have any expectations of the world owing me anything." [Cranston] He encouraged the audience to find what they want in life, and to go out and try new things. He went on to talk about confidence and focusing on being the best you can be, saying "if you focus on being the best you can be in the process, the results will take care of themselves".  His insight to the importance of education, love and guidance was a highlight of the week. Through these things we hopefully reach out full potential. What kind of keynote with Bryan Cranston would it be if we did not all get to relive some scenes from Sienfeld. Chuck Robbins said Bryan Cranston's keynote was a highlight of the week and our team could not agree more.
