Project Managers - The Guardians of Project Stakeholder Satisfaction.
Posted by Jeff Mason

Project management is a hot topic lately. Recently we’ve heard about the rise of project managers in a variety of fields, such as legal, sports and government. But this recent fame doesn’t mean we’ve gone mainstream. It’s likely that most people still don’t have a full grasp of what project managers do, why they are valuable, and what they can really mean to an organization

What is the Project Managers Role?

Project Managers are problem solvers who mitigate risk to projects, ensure teams are well communicated and resources are properly allocated to ensure successful project delivery. Fortunately for us, as project managers, planning is drilled into our psyche—and planning is the skill most crucial to success. You need a plan of attack with a process in place for collecting feedback and adjusting accordingly. This is basically the textbook definition of a project manager’s role.

How do they add value?

We are the leaders and trusted Service Delivery Advisors for LookingPoint. We are problem solvers who clear obstacles for project teams so engineers can focus on delivering the technical aspects of the project. We also ensure project teams are well aligned and informed. We add value by managing stakeholder expectations, maintaining a “big picture” strategic outlook and controlling risks, issues and changes to scope. We also assist engineers with non-technical related work. Using checklists and a series of preparedness meetings, we ensure the project team is properly equipped and ready to successfully move forward. Our job is to set the project up for success.

What can they really mean to an organization?

The difference between project success or failure. Project Managers ensure projects are ran according to a proven Project Management Methodology which ensures a consistent project delivery experience. At the end of the day, Project Managers are the guardians of project stakeholder satisfaction.

How does LookingPoint’s Project Management Differ?

LookingPoint’s Project Management Office utilizes a Continuous Process Improvement model which allows for our Project Management methodology to be reviewed and updated on a regular basis. This has created a mechanism which delivers constant improvements to our Project Management Methodology and our customers reap the biggest benefit - consistent, successful project delivery.

We are passionate about our roles, aim to exceed expectations and ensure successful delivery of your projects. Reach out to our team If you would like to learn more about how our Project Managers can add value to your project teams.
