Project Approach

Project Team

Customers are assigned a project team to ensure proper scheduling, resource allocation and ultimately project success. The team is comprised of PMP project manager, a Solutions Architect, and a delivery engineer. This team will be responsible for project planning, status meetings, and the entire project life-cycle.


Customer Involvement

Customers provide specific information about the current infrastructure as well as their business needs and expectations. Customer involvement during all project meetings is critical to ensure a successful project implementation. 



We have developed a proven process that enables us to consistently deploy Infrastructure technology. LookingPoint also has a managed services organization that can support the infrastructure post-delivery if needed. This organization consistently improves our delivery best practices which get incorporated in to our methodology.  Specifically, we have a systematic way to ensure a successful outcome with minimal risk.


Our implementation process is based around the PPDIOO methodology (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize), which is used as a guide in developing our process to ensure project discovery, design, delivery and support.

Our deployment methodology consists of the following Phases:
1. Project Kickoff and Project Plan Development

During this phasethe project is kicked off and your company is introduced to the project team. We will walk through the objectives and define a detailed project plan. Through this process we will identify key stakeholders for each phase of the project and the associated information we will need.

  • Develop and agree to project plan
  • Identify stakeholders and their required involvement
  • Define and agree on project meeting cadence
2. Readiness Assessment and Discovery

We will review your current infrastructure and business requirements; based on this review we will develop the design, implementation plan, and project plan.


  • Review current infrastructure topology
  • Gather needed information to start the design
  • Review existing technology
  • Identify infrastructure issues related to business requirements
3. Design

LookingPoint staff will meet with key stakeholders to asses and document site information. We will work with your team to explain and gather information required to complete the project. The information gathered throughout these meetings is reviewed and used to produce an end state architecture. 


  • Extract required information to design the system appropriately
  • Document the end state of the system to be delivered
  • Enhance the existing infrastructure
  • Provide a clear understanding between the customer and LookingPoint
  • Ensure the delivered system will perform as expected
4. Staging and Configuration

During this phase of the project we will be building the infrastructure solutions outlined in the project. We will be building the system based on the design documents.


  • Physically install devices
  • Integrate new solutions with existing solutions
  • Configuration of best practice configuration
  • Build system in accordance with the design
5. Testing and Validation

During this phase we will test and validate the installationof your infrastructure solutions. We will run through our test plan and ensure the system is functioning properly.


  • Create and Validate test plan prior to execution with customer
  • Execute test plan per design session
  • Complete the Device Activation Document including each new network and compute element
6. Training

During this phase we will conduct the training sessions. Based on the Statement of Work initially provided, we will conduct end user training and administration training.


  • Ensure end users know how to use the system
  • Ensure administrators understand essential configuration
  • Ensure the go live is successful and users can leverage the system
7. Cutover and Migration Support

During this phase we will be conducting the cutover and supporting go live.


  • Ensure the upgrade is successful
  • If an issue is encountered we have resources in place to quickly resolve the issue.
  • Provide assurance that the migration will be a success
8. As Built Documentation

During this phase we will update the documentation based on any changes during the implementation and testing phases. This will also contain the system build document which contains the validations made during the project. We will also complete any administration documentation.


  • Ensure up to date system documentation
  • Provide administrative documentation
  • Ensure the end customer has the required information to support and manage the system
